    this is not coming from a dumb "there can only be ONE fiction-and-science-reporting podcast" attitude (if there can be 10,000 podcasts of Men Talking we can have more than one SF+journalism podcast) but like, why do men have to act like they're inventing a genre or whatever?

    i think the moon is so interesting to look at because it is always trying out different shapes like crescent, gibbous, and classic round. the sun on the other hand stays the same shape and it is so boring to the eyes it hurts.

    Obviously this is false, but that's almost beside the point. This isn't a misstatement, or even the kind of lie politicians sometimes tell. It's racist demonization. I don't think the norms of modern American political journalism are capable of reckoning with this.
