    Valid point, and: SIM switching was used. Twitter offers third-party authentiction app/device options, and you should switch to those, since SIM switching will be easy as long as mobile providers have lame protections against social engineering

    Fun fact: Former US press sec Sean Spicer was also caught out by Cloudhopper in 2017 when he tweeted a series of passcodes via the SMS bridge in his first week on the job. A White House spokesperson brushed it off as a "pocket tweet." Twitter has been sunsetting SMS ever since.
