There's a decent chance doesn't intensify much tomorrow as it encounters lower oceanic heat content. Note the Emanuel Maximum Potential Intensity (MPI) is only ~950 hPa near 's path & the HWRF soundings are nearly moist neutral, indicative that is near MPI.

A recent GMI overpass of Hurricane revealed a VERY organized inner core. Typically a 36-GHz cyan ring is a harbinger of rapid intensification, but this cyan ring is so thick it deserves a new category. Barring an ERC, I expect some remarkable rates of intensification.

Last 4 runs of the GFS have subtle differences but seem to hold a slight trend to an early north deflection of . There is very little wriggle-room between a catastrophic landfall and a bruising track along the coast.

Overshooting tops around the eye wall is a big indicator of intensification. You can see the convection “boiling”

This would be a miracle... But at this point it should be treated as such. Forecasting a subtle turn like that is extraordinarily hard for models. The NHC forecast and the consensus of many models is a better indicator

Every day Florida gets more populated. More exposure to hurricanes. Folks make your decisions early... probably tomorrow... before the roads get clogged.
