What’s been lost is that spirit that children are numbers. What’s been lost is the unawareness of the agenda. What’s been lost forever is professional teachers remaining silent about the plight of their most vulnerable charges.

Wait?! I am still processing this. Lori Lightfoot barred the most influential and respected black woman in our city, Stacy Davis Gates from the final CTU negotiations. Seriously?! Who are her advisors?

  13. "I’ve been at the table for everything, [including] the meeting we had with her … earlier in the week, but was refused entry. It was kind of shocking,” Davis Gates told the Sun-Times. Apparently why 's Sharkey wouldn't stand with Lightfoot to announce deal.

Incredible. “In the end, the city said it had agreed to $35 million to reduce class sizes and hundreds of additional staff members by 2023. The city’s offer included a 16 percent salary increase over five years.”

It’s pretty apparent from the mayor’s Wednesday night press conference how she—a “notorious grudge holder” per —feels about us. Her calling on security to bar our VP from Thursday’s meeting is par for the course. We are ready to move on. Is she?

From Lightfoot's today: "CTU President Jesse Sharkey wouldn't even stand by Mayor Lori Lightfoot to announce the resolution of the strike. His unwillingness to move past the strife shocked observers." From yeah about that:
