    Just from a simple technical change, we estimate that we send about 4 terabytes of data around the Internet less per day than we did a year ago. That’s a lot of data! 5/

    We did this recently by making a small change to how we transmit data. Now people download less stuff every time they open up an article and we send less data. In the end, this makes things appear faster for you and over time, we reduce the site's emissions. /4
