    Justice & equity should inform . Given massive inequities & asymmetries in power & credibility (often signaled by an advanced degree) + the deep shame around our bodies/reproductive systems, it would do well to be more sensitive & intentional.

    Hmm. It's almost as if there is some kind of structure underpinning our culture and therefore our approach to medicine that somehow doesn't appreciate women being in control of their own bodies? Someone should write a book about that😉

    Whether you are an adult woman or still a girl - vaginal exams are unnecessary and you have the right to refuse them entirely. They’re not for health, and they are a tactic of intimidation & submission - “more of a ritual than evidence based practice”
