Lib leader Justin Trudeau just claimed his govt had gone to Fed Court over CHRT ruling on compensation children b/c the Dec. 10 deadline for figuring out how was too short. Yet fed justice lawyers are arguing to completely quash the ruling, according to court filings.

The plight of an urban Indigenous woman - I’m trading Asian market spices for venison next week b/c I need game. Also, I‘m trying to rearrange my work schedule so I can go help w/ a hide. Both of these things I sadly can’t get in the city but are good for my mental health.

With all this pickle talk on and Facebook I’ve just realized I have pickles from and gave to me that should be perfectly delicious by now. It’s normal to plan an entire meal around pickles right?

Your identity should fuel your politics, not politics fuel your identity. It’s tough to see articles like this when folx w/ no real connection using Indigenity as a tool to get ahead. Folx like this don’t speak for us and often don’t even put in the work to better the community

To put this number in perspective, the 2017-2018 budget for children's benefits was $23.4 billion. So, according to the CHRT ruling, a one-time 34% increase in the budget would make up for centuries of deliberate underfunding of Indigenous kids. Canada would be getting a deal
