    Due to excessive terms, many books, films or video games are not available for pay, but not for free, either! New rules on out-of-commerce works could change that - if we make sure that libraries don't get buried in bureaucracy.

    This makes me so happy! Norwegian lawmakers decide to finally give access to court rulings, after Supreme Court upheld an absurd claim that publishing them violated intellectual property rights.

    Meanwhile in Paris, France's culture minister unveiled the audiovisual reform, which transposes the directive's Article 17 and the audiovisual media services directive. The text will go to the National Assembly in early 2020.

    Every Member State of the EU has until the summer of 2021 to introduce the new rules into their national laws. How helpful or harmful these rules will end up being for users depends on the national implementation. It's time to get active now!
