    For the second day in a row, Australia has broken its hottest day in recorded history. The nationwide average temperature on December 18 was 41.9°C (107.4°F) -- across an area the size of the U.S. -- that's unthinkable. We are in a climate emergency.

    Based on preliminary analysis, yesterday, Australia recorded its hottest day on record. The nationally-averaged maximum daytime temp was 41.9 °C exceeding the record set on Tuesday, 40.9 ºC. You can view the top ten highest daily maximum temps here:

    Media surprisingly seems to be more interested in a teenagers train travels than the fact that failed. But since conspiracy theories are running high, here is what happened. Sometimes it’s lucky that you are traveling with journalists who can confirm the story...

    I travelled on the same trains as this weekend. We both sat on the floor in two trains (se video in link from the first one). She sat on a regular seat from Göttingen, me and my colleague from Hannover.

    Our train from Basel was taken out of traffic. So we sat on the floor on 2 different trains. After Göttingen I got a seat.This is no problem of course and I never said it was. Overcrowded trains is a great sign because it means the demand for train travel is high!

    It seems like in Madrid is falling apart right now. The science is clear, but the science is being ignored. Whatever happens we will never give up. We have only just begun.

    The entire purpose of COP25 was for nations to scale up their own ambitions and raise the decarbonization targets established under Paris. After an extra day of contentious negotiation, all language referring to that goal has been stripped from the resolution.
