    The media thinks the power it has is covering things positively or negatively. If that was ever true, it's not now. The media is an amplification machine. Our biggest impact is in choosing what to cover. If we amplify lies — even to fact check them — they often gain power.

    Sad Christmas story. Under this 2017 Trump admin rule, a timber co. would not be responsible for killing partridges if it cut down pear trees. Even if it knew the partridges would die in the act. Here’s what 2 years of this enviro rollback has wrought:

    "while Shell says its ambition is to reduce the global warming emissions from its operations, energy usage, & use of its products by 50% by 2050, Shell also plans to spend $30 billion/yr during the period of 2021-25 on average investments in oil/gas infrastructure & exploration"

    ExxonMobil’s 2019 Outlook for Energy predicts “no reductions in carbon dioxide emissions from the energy sector through 2040—and no date at which emissions reach net zero” They are openly admitting they have no intention of trying to slow climate change.

    The 2010s were the decade we figured out we were being constantly and repeatedly lied to by the fossil fuel industry about climate change. Let's see if we learn from our mistakes in 2020.

    Here’s what they are talking about. Please read the part of the story where administration’s own press release says people save money with LEDs. And the law was passed in 2007. The Bush, not Obama, administration.

    If you like your lightbulbs, you can keep your lightbulbs! The Obama Admin tried to limit Americans to buying more-expensive LED bulbs for their homes—but thanks to President , go ahead and decorate your house with whatever lights you want. 💡

    Random side note: I appreciate that the photographer didn’t edit out my psoriasis in the pics where it’s visible. It’s already not that noticeable, but that makes it even easier to edit out, and I’m glad she didn’t.
