One click install not working #80

There is an option to enable 'one click install"
I did enabled it, but it is not working, nothing happening and no new songs

Can you fix that?

Please give more information...

We can't tell why it's not working if you do not explain every step you made.
Did you accept the administration privileges question of windows after activating the option (if there was one)?
Did you push the right button on the song page to download it with one click?
Were the association set right?

Well having ModSaber installed might be your issue

Sure, it says:

An unhandled exception...IOException:

Nothing except built in in windows 10

Did checked, it is also disabled :)

The OneClick Install can take a bit to download the files, and in that time it may seem like nothing is happening.
Are you sure the files aren't getting installed?

It should also show a windows notification message (or "Balloon Tooltip") when it's done.
If you have these disabled, the message will not appear when it's done.

Make sure you have this setting enabled in windows 10

Did checked it tho. I am patient enough to wait 5 min and more, but really nothing happens. Also if it downloading and doing stuff, it should be some sign of that process...

For me this feature absolutely not working, I've tried it multiple times. Downloading all songs manually which is a pain

p.s. my notifications are enabled, did checked that

I'm not sure what could be causing this!
Yes, it would be nice if there was some indication that the download is happening. It's something I'd like to see added to MA as well.

Are you still getting that error message from before?
In the video you provided here I didn't see an error message appear, but you have a screenshot of an error message in the post

Yeah, I did not usually make an error, I just clicked "Install" button multiple times, and it trowed that error. If I use it normally it never gives any sign of living. No errors no messages, no work done

I've attached a special build of Mod Assistant that will create a special log file called ModAssistant.log when you try to use the OneClick installer.

Instructions

  1. Download the zip below and unzip it to your Desktop. Be sure that you don't just open the zip. You need to actually unzip the folder to the Desktop.
  2. Run the ModAssistant.exe that was just extracted from the zip
  3. Go to the Options menu and uncheck the "BeatSaver" OneClick button.
  4. Wait a few seconds, then re-check the "BeatSaver" OneClick button. You should see a Windows notification that Mod Assistant is registered as the OneClick installer for BeatSaver.
  5. Download any map using the OneClick install button on whatever website you want to use (probably bsaber, like before).
  6. Wait maybe 20 seconds to give MA time to try and download the map
  7. Go back to your Desktop and look for the file ModAssistant.log
  8. Upload that file here so that I can take a look at the contents

Hopefully that'll give some indication of what's going wrong.

And it actually worked 😋

But no notifications happened...

Ok, I did tested current version of ModAssistant again.

  1. I have checked and unchecked that flag for "BeatSaver" OneClick button.
  2. I have installed song with ModAssistant open and it worked.
  3. I have installed song with ModAssistant closed and it worked.
  4. I did reboot PC and installed song using OneClick install and it worked again.

I can not reproduce that bug anymore.

I should have been recorded that process back than image

But it is good news, I still not getting any type of notification, but actually song loading is working great! ☺️

You tested with the current release of Mod Assistant and it's working now? v1.1.5?

It's 1.1.6 actually (didn't look on version when was testing)

Yes, it was 1.1.5 when I made the comment, then Assistant released 1.1.6.
Since this seems to be working now, I'll go ahead and close this issue.
