    Feds should consider telling people to wear masks in areas of epidemic spread. But supply chain for hospitals is crushed. All resources must go to providers. In the interim - for consumers who don't already have masks - CDC can fashion proposal on how people make cotton masks.

    I think there was a space when I expected it to reach the US, and it "didn't" (because we weren't actually testing), and I questioned my alarm and figured something was slowing transmission that I was missing. That was the space where I should have been more publicly alarmed.

    We did a segment of The Argument about it on February 6th, and then I became a Twitter alarmist about 10-12 days later, but first full column wasn't till the 25th (too late, too late). Then I was full alarmist thereafter.

    I think there was definitely some space between when I first became genuinely concerned about the coronavirus and when I became a public alarmist, though not that much of one (I think) between when I started telling family members and when I started writing about it.

    This writer deserves credit for self-criticism, and it inspired me to go back and try to trace my own evolving corona-wokeness.

    One thing I've struggled with personally - I told my family in early February that we should expect the virus to hit here and should buy what we'd need and plan to soon stop leaving our home. I wasn't that direct in a public article for three more weeks. Why not?
