    Seems and won't need to dig very much to find evidence that Apple is abusive.

    Whoever at Apple wrote this — a few days before WWDC! — should never be allowed to communicate with developers again. Let’s be clear, Apple: in addition to the $100/year developer fees and any search ads we buy, we add value to your highly profitable hardware FAR beyond the 30%.

    It seems impossible, but Silicon Valley's newspaper does not have a tech reporter.

    The San Jose Mercury News once led the whole nation in many aspects of technology reporting. Sad to see that, as of layoffs yesterday, they now have no reporters on the tech beat.

    These threads are always maddening and jaw dropping but this one is a doozy.

    An early (Sun to Tues), but things are moving crazy fast 1. Last week the govt said “we will work around the clock to ensure nobody goes hungry as a result of this crisis” 2. Then 4 days later the govt ended free meals for the poorest 1.3m children

    Nostalgia: Back in 2002, the Canadian music industry wanted a "tax" of $21 per GB of memory on iPods, hard drives etc. So, for an 8 Terabyte external hard drive that now sells for ~$200, that would be a "tax" of $168,000. Not a misprint.

    Other developers implementing Google Chromecast support in their iOS apps have found they get bounced frequently, different reason every time. And there are many, many other examples. An Apple employee on an off day can put you out of business with negligible recourse. 3/4

    For example, developers I know making parental control software say every release is a crap shoot as Apple find a different reason to block their releases every time. 2/4

    This is a good development, but the Commission needs to look more widely at the mercurial application and arbitrary re-interpretation of other rules that place developers on their platforms constantly at risk in areas other than mandatory use of Apple's payment system. 1/4
