Currently, it seems like all rticles outputs rest upon rmarkdown::pdf_document() format.

However, would there be any way we could replace it with bookdown::pdf_document2() so that users can cross-reference sections? Furthermore, given that bookdown::pdf_document2() is inclusive of the basic rmarkdown::pdf_document(), what would be any expected conflict other than benefits?

I wonder if there is an easy way to add a public significance statement right after the abstract. For example, this journal specifies that:

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Experimental Psychology: Human Perception and Performance are required to provide 2–3 (between 120–150 words) brief sentences regarding the public significance of the study or meta-analysis described in their

Currently we can disable the YAML Header for new notes, and for existing notes it will only be updated if it already exists. It would be good to have the reverse option as well - that the yaml header is only added for new notes, but for notes without it we don't add it.

Ideally, we should also provide the user some kind of feedback about why they cannot set the title, and an option for the YAML

Forced termination caused corruption of pos file. Mutations to pos file could be done atomically to increase reliability.

  • Update install wiki instructions to recommend Postgres, but maintain that you can use any supported Django backend.
  • Update documentation similarly.
  • Update requirements - two options here, remove mysqlclient and add postgres or add neither and update docs above to tell folks to pick and install one.

@mauromsl @MartinPaulEve would appreciate any comments/thoughts on this one.
