Update readme
The current readme is out of date. Some things of note:
- Work in progress section is out of date. Perhaps we need to rethink it completely, as it can be hard to keep it up to date at the detail level.
- A "how to build/contribute" guide would be very useful.
- There's no link to our new website.

When dicy on the CLI prints the help message, it helpfully lists the type of option expected ([string]) and the valid selections ([choices: "dvi", "pdf", "ps", "svg"]) but not what the default is for each option. It should indicate which choice is the default if no option is passed by the user.
