We owe our lives to this record! It taught me the most important lesson.. Never underestimate the power of ‘wouldn’t it be funny if..’

Recorded at Rack Studios. Studio 3. The drum sound is mega. I recall finishing the tracking and heading straight to Glastonbury 2013 with our album finished. Boom.

Started it in a hotel room in Australia. Played it to Ben and he said the chorus sucked (it did)  So went back and we finished it during a sound check.

Loved the idea of getting to know someone significantly less.

Careless: Two bass strings, two guitar strings and a tuning not even the tech can remember. Jazzy little number. And that ending is golden.

LooseChange: The drums in this sound so sick. So much gaffer tape.  is the reason all these songs sound so epic btw... and the gaffer, mainly Tom though. Recording coins at the end was so dumb, but that was kind of our theme at the time.

BloodHands: Lyrics can be mysterious, and subconscious can make its way on to paper. I genuinely worked out what this song was about on stage playing it at Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham. It was rather embarrassing as I nearly cried

Fun fact. The lyric ‘Figure It Out’ was something I was ad libbing during rehearsals, I had not worked out what I was going to say. Safe to say I never figured it out. 😐

..Lyrically it's basic but beneath it all I can clearly hear what I was getting at. Songs can be like photographs in that way, “that was a great day but who let me wear those trousers?!”

ComeOnOver I had been playing bass for about 5mins we wrote this. I think I had just worked out how to ‘hammer on’ and was stoked that I could play bass with one hand.
