    In June invoked ’s death and promised to end solitary confinement for ALL in NYC. The city is supposed to vote to end solitary next week. Join us for a rally to at Foley Square. Let them know we are watching!

    If you see someone on the train looking down and talking to themselves, says Omar, you don’t know but maybe there were in solitary. Not because of a conviction, but because officers sent them there. They use torture to control the mind so the body doesn’t matter.

    Jerome spent 7.5 years in solitary confinement. The suffering was unimaginable to people who don’t know & it didn’t end. He still has trouble with personal relationships. But he’s building power with us, focusing on Western NY where he lives, to end this torture.

    Finally, in June committed to end solitary. But it’s been 4 months since de Blasio said this, 15 months since died in solitary, & 5 years since died because of solitary — with no action to end this horrific torture.

    NYC Council Criminal Justice Chair says he and his colleagues demanded an end to solitary after died in solitary at Rikers. The Mayor finally committed to end it, with a plan due in September. It’s now September. Where’s the plan? Time for action.

    Akeem Browder lost his brother Kalief more than 5 years ago. Kalief suffered 2 years in solitary starting when he was only 16. He’s already gone, but Akeem is here fighting for other people’s siblings, parents & other loved ones still locked up. He demands end solitary.
