We need new antitrust laws for Big Tech, not because big tech firms are evil, but because they can't help themselves. They're playing on the playing field they've been given. And if it's all downhill from their side, then the answer is not to shame them but to fix the damn field.

It wasn’t just about the drug, or learning that it didn’t work against Covid-19. The wild ride of hydroxychloroquine was a test how science and knowledge work today—especially when they’re inconvenient to people in power.

It's going to be messy & fraught, but there needs to be discipline in what political content ppl call for platforms to outright ban in the coming months (well... always, really). Platform censorship can't solve broader institutional failures & asking it to causes other problems

There are three big problems with fine-grained post-election analysis: 1) Exit polls suck. 2) The votes aren't all counted! 3) Ecological fallacy: You can't make inferences about individual behavior from group (eg county-level) shifts. h/t

Everyone: Wow, the polls sure got it wrong Also everyone: Trump improved by 3.9% among non-college Hispanic truck drivers with a high school diploma, as you can see from the polls

“It costs more to get replacement coverage, so this issue is going to bear more of an impact on lower-income folks where every dime really counts, and they opted for the less expensive plan,” Mr. Kochenburger said. “It is not intuitive how this works.”

Four years ago this article pointed out that federal law gave the president the power to slash drug prices unilaterally. Obviously, Trump didn't do that. Biden could, on day one, if he cared to.

Kind of seems like Ossoff and Warnock should both run as single-issue $15 minimum wage candidates, no?

The typo, the fact that he's live-tweeting Fox *in the middle of losing the election* ... recency bias, perhaps, but this could be his masterpiece:

I've been crunching the numbers, and Biden is currently leading by 4.08 million votes nationally. Obviously the Constitution requires at least a 4.09 million popular vote lead. He could hit the magic threshold today based on the splits we're seeing out of Philadelphia

I don't know for sure if is right about this, but I really, really want to find out.

I know for an absolute certainty that come January, a handful of Georgia voters will vote for Warnock AND Perdue, some will vote for Ossoff AND Loeffler, and I just want to talk to them.
