When adding a Component, as well as a fully qualified name (e.g. org.openflexure.microscope), we should add the option to include additional metadata, eg specifying it's a hardware device, software object, device type etc
This depends slightly on finding a good semantics framework, and agreeing on some instrumentation ontology.
