MatBenfield/README.md

Hi, I'm Mat

Daily Build Linter

You can see my curriculum vitae and my operating manual. I also love listening to podcasts so please help me find more, on the agile software development podcasts repository. I am also compiling a repository of people leadership documentation too.

I occassionally blog here.

I have been playing with python, recently, and have created some twitter bots that tweet breaking news, recount a famous night in history, play some well known word games using a list of Chelsea FC players, or determine what club crisis is happening today.

  • Morning is a site that generates the latest news, local coronavirus stats, local weather, football fixtures, and latest stock prices as part of my morning routine. Built using github-actions, APIs, and python.
  • Cheltenham coronavirus data is a site using and archiving official government statistics for Cheltenham.
  • Cheltenham food bank data is a site using and archiving local food bank data for Cheltenham.
  • Cheltenham lunch venue randomiser is a site to help people decide what to have for lunch in Cheltenham.

Repository naming convention

Repositories, where possible, are lowercase with underscores and follow the naming conventions below.

  • Demonstrations or proof of concepts use the format demo_name.
  • Boilerplate or templates are named in the format template_name.
    • where appropriate these are also published through github pages and will be available at username.github.io/repo_name.
  • WordPress related content (mostly plugins) are all prefixed with wp_.
  • Twitter bots are prefix with bot_.
  • Standard repositories are named as they are, sometimes this might be a domain name e.g thechels.uk.
