    Mimi Cove is a harm reduction professional who's spent 20+ years in the movement, with experience in groundbreaking roles in organizations such as San Francisco AIDS Foundation, the DOPE Project, and Whose Corner Is It Anyway. She also has extensive experience as an EMT.

    Sex worker harm reduction organizers are well poised to identify and intervene to meet the specific OD prevention needs of our communities, and the rich informal harm reduction practices of sex worker communities can also benefit the larger drug user & harm reduction movements.

    Mimi & Illaria will delve into the underfocus on oxygenation & rescue breathing, esp. post-COVID, & brainstorm innovative ways we can correct this as movements. We'll also be discussing how sex worker community care practices can be adjusted & applied to meet OD prevention.

    The USU sex worker call centers sex workers who use highly criminalized drugs, with an open invitation extended to sex workers organizers working in harm reduction as well as sex workers interested in learning more about harm reduction. Our respectful allies are also welcome.

    This call has grown SO much since its inception in 2019, and we have done a LOT of work on various projects. But we want to make it more of a priority to do continuous community care. Most of us are struggling right now, and there are so few spaces where we can show up fully.
