    73 years ago, the Israeli state was established by expelling ~750,000 Palestinians. Thousands were rounded up in camps, many tortured and killed, and thousands more were massacred. Hundreds of villages were destroyed, later repopulated and renamed by Jewish immigrants.

    Palestinians are indigenous to Palestine. It’s not just our narrative. It’s a fact.

    This is our farm in northern before and after an Israeli warplane hit it. Here I quarantined to escape the virus, but it’s not the best place to take shelter from bombings. The current raids are a reminiscent of the 2008 war when an airstrike killed my father in this farm.

    This degrading, dehumanizing tactic of stripping Palestinians naked in groups is a practice that Israel carried out pretty openly at border crossings under the guise of security searches till the 1990s. They still strip search Palestinians—albeit privately—at the airport today.

    These strip searches are illegal under *Israeli law* but still happen on a regular basis. When traveling with my class in middle school, I and the other Palestinian kids were subjected to such searches. No other kids were.
