    At the Internet Archive, this is how we digitize a book. We never destroy a book by cutting off its binding. Instead, we digitize it the hard way--one page at a time.

    The partnership between the National Library and the Internet Archive means that ~600k books don't get thrown into the tip and get digitized for generations to come. I know because I initially reported on the issue before San Fran came into the picture.
