    Show people grace. Some people are really down bad but put a smile on everyday like everything is okay despite their circumstance. Show love by default and some of those people who really need it will benefit by virtue.

    I think a better way to think about this is caring about people. Care about customers. Care about colleagues. Focus and results will follow from caring. (Care about yourself, too. That will guard against addiction—which is always unhealthy.)

    Become addicted to the work and the results will follow.

    I was thinking earlier today about the forces that a gymnast at the Olympic level subjects their body to and what even the slightest mental distraction could mean in terms of injury. I wish I could make every simpleton criticizing read this and consider the same.

    The history of women's gymnastics is full of stories of athletes who sustained life-altering injuries after being pressured to compete when they didn't feel up to it.

    It occurs to me that it’s same people who are terrified of teaching actual American history because they say it will make young people hate America AND who believe I’m a disloyal Jew because I don’t believe Israel is a perfect country with a spotless history. Same bad argument.
