    ICYMI: Thousands of eligible New Yorkers still need to register to receive their advanced payments of the federal child tax credit. NYS DOL is working with government partners to encourage unregistered New Yorkers to sign up to receive CTC payments. More:

    Reminder: All UI claimants with BYE dates in August, must file NEW claims if they continue to be unemployed after their BYE date. UI claimants will *not* receive benefits on an expired claim unless deemed not qualified for a new claim after reapplying.

    As a reminder, you may be required to complete your identity verification through and/or file a new claim for benefits if your UI benefit year has ended. Be sure to follow instructions you're given after certifying, when you call the TCC, and sent via email/text message.

    ICYMI: Sunday through Thursday nights at 5:30 pm, our system starts processing payments to be released the next day. That means if you certify after 5:30 pm, your benefit payment likely won't appear on your DOL account the next day – instead, it will appear in two days.

    Claimants who have received 13+ weeks of EB will no longer be eligible for EB on their existing claim after the benefit week of August 9, 2021 but may be eligible for PEUC or PUA benefits through September 5, 2021. Claimants who are unemployed should continue to certify weekly.

    ICYMI: New York State has fallen below the rate established by the Federal government in order for the state to qualify for the highest level of Federal Extended Benefits (EB). Effective today, EB will be available for a maximum of 13 weeks.
