Update Dec 13: We're seeing thousands of users in Russia connect to Tor using bridges. That means ISPs are censoring Tor... but it also means Russians are successfully circumventing it with the help of our community of bridge operators.

In December 2018, the Tor network had 961 bridges. In 2019, it had 1,268 bridges. Last year, 1,571. Today? 1,973! We're seeing that the number of Russians connecting to Tor is staying relatively steady. Some Russian ISPs blocked public Tor relays and built-in bridges by IP address, enumerated "moat" obfs4 bridges and blocked them by IP address, and used DPI to recognize and block Snowflake connections.
