    Eventually we came away victorious w/ a 105 ETH bid & couldn’t be more proud to acquire yet another piece from the undisputed NFT champion 👑 Historic moments in crypto take you down some wild paths but this was one was particularly winding

    targeted ddos attacks on during the launch clearly bullish signal for ppl as giga queen of NFT land 🦾

    We will keep this conversation private but the end result was continuing the bidding war after we discovered “chad 3” would be given to at a major discount from the top bid. Congrats!

    1/3) A post-mortem on the auction for Chad 3 from and : We were unable to match the top bid (47.4 ETH) on Chad 3 on-chain. The winner was for 23.1 WETH, the highest bid that we were able to match. Chat 2 is the only live auction now

    We assume this was to bide time until the status of “chad 3” was known. The search for the whale lilyatty began. After hours of extending the timer in a war of attrition, we finally managed to make contact with lilyatty ().

    We entered a massive bidding war w/ OS user lilyatty and soon a standoff occurred due to a loophole in OpenSea auction timer mechanism. If the top bid withdraws their bid with <10 mins on the auction, the auction extends for another 10 minutes.

    The bid was not registered & “chad 1” was awarded to another bidder. On a Twitter Spaces it was decided that bidding would open back up in the next few hrs. “chad 2” opened while “chad 3” was still locked 🤷‍♂️ Because of msig bidding overhead we decided to bid via members' EOAs

    Still, we somehow managed to sign a Tx from our multisig in an attempt to place a bid on “chad 1” -- which, if you haven't worked with msigs, is typically top-tier tricksy with any platform let alone one under attack.

    From what we know, a targeted DDOS attack on began around the time the auctions were coming to a close. Because OpenSea uses wETH transfer approval signatures, it is essentially not possible to bid direct through Etherscan.
