    My friend 's middle grade book Too Bright to See, a "haunting and healing" (-Kirkus💫 review) book about ghosts and gender identity, is among 10 finalists for the National Book Award!!! I am so proud of him and he is so talented.

    Second edition author spotlight: Gaines Blasdel (Surgical Transition chapter author) is a transgender man who has worked with LGBTQ teens in NYC, written about trans health care for community and academic audiences, and currently does research on gender affirming surgery.

    Surgical lit. mostly says metoidioplasty = meta (towards) + oidio (male genitals) in Greek, but when I google, oidio = little egg. Hage (1996) says it should be spelled "aidoio" which google says = non gendered genital (ie, latin Pudend). Any Greek scholars with thoughts on this?

    Interested to know this surveys analysis plan. But in all seriousness, we need a new GenIUSS group recommendation. 2 step was best practice in 2014, insufficient in 2021. Workshopping our own SOGI Q’s with advisory boards or individual trans consultants =\= reproducible data

    Grateful that I got to celebrate by giving a presentation to hospital nutrition staff about a system update to use patients' chosen name on meal tickets. I (infrastructure geek) also got a tour of the kitchen facilities, including tray mover robots 🤓
