    As we have received questions about this, some comments. We discussed this attack on our blog several years ago: All our servers are encrypted and have unique per-server certificates. Servers are reinstalled with new certs if they power cycle.

    Windscribe, a Toronto, Canada-based VPN provider with millions of customers, didn't bother to encrypt a Ukraine-based VPN server that was seized by authorities. Windscribe also stored an OpenVPN server certificate and its private key on the servers.
