    Days after 9/11, Sikh American Balbir Singh Sodhi was killed in the apparent first ‘retribution’ hate crime following the attacks. Today, we honor his memory & remain united in our efforts to fend off all forms of hate & discrimination.

    Even though Facebook knows its platforms are doing lasting harm, they are racing at warp speed to push Instagram onto even younger kids. Through hearings & legislation my Commerce subcommittee will act to protect children & support parents against this dangerous & reckless ploy.

    Facebook has known for yrs of Instagram’s damaging effect on young people—but its own employees’ warnings were shoved aside in favor of growth-at-all-costs. I'm appalled & alarmed by Facebook's targeting of teens w/dangerous products while hiding the science of its toxic impact.

    In public, Facebook has consistently played down Instagram’s negative effects on teens, and hasn’t made its research public or available to academics or lawmakers who have asked for it

    Honored to hear from these brave survivors on Wednesday. Their courage & conviction in speaking truth to power is inspiring. There is no excuse. The FBI must be held accountable for the ways its Larry Nassar investigation was grossly & grievously mishandled.

    . is a champion for privacy/civil rights, & will be a powerful voice in reining in Big Tech’s abuse & protecting consumers. I look forward to the Senate taking up his nomination & putting into place a Commission ready & willing to fight for consumers & competition.

    President Biden will nominate the law professor Alvaro Bedoya to the Federal Trade Commission, further cementing the consumer-protection agency’s next phase as a check against Big Tech’s power, two people familiar with the matter told The Post.

    These docs provide additional evidence of connections btw Saudi officials & the 9/11 hijackers. I commend the Admin for supporting the families in their quest for justice w/this significant disclosure, a crucial step toward transparency that hopefully will be followed by more.
