    TW: SA If you have the energy, consider making a formal complaint on grounds of inaccuracy that the comment to acknowledge the article's update doesn't specify known sexual assault as the reason for retracting that contributer's words. It's important to be explicit.

    lily cade is gone from the bbc article. no apology, just this vague note. we acknowledge that we platformed a serial rapist who has published death threats against trans women, but fuck you, no apology, and the rest of the article stays? bullshit

    As notes, the survey on which the article was based which calls all trans women rapists is still linked from the amended piece - leading BBC readers to propaganda from an openly anti trans hate group.

    Fundamentally we need the to understand that this is not an isolated incident. Our friends at were raising the alarm about institutional transphobia at the BBC. This was ignored. That made this wrong and harmful article possible.

    The have added this small correction to the very end of their article accusing trans women of predatory conduct towards lesbians, admitting to failing to include important context about Lily Cade. Rather than including it chose to bowdlerise the article

    Update 4 November 2021: We have updated this article, published last week, to remove a contribution from one individual in light of comments she has published on blog posts in recent days, which we have been able to verify. We acknowledge that an admission of inappropriate behaviour by the same contributor should have been included in the original article.
