Some Personal News. Explanations for how the US reached its nationalist moment have overlooked something: the war on terror. Its generation-long brutality has left a toxic political legacy. Coming in 2021: my 1st book, REIGN OF TERROR, the story of what The Forever War wrought.

It's sick to watch liberals cheer the prosecution of Assange by Trump's Justice Department, headed by William "Exonerate the Iran Contra Criminals" Barr, as though this prosecution is not a massive attack on press freedom, rather some gotcha about the 2016 election. It's deranged

No one a’tall: Me: Less than two months into book leave and two chapters drafted. The bad news is they’re 50,000 words cumulatively, so I’m going to be chiseling a ton of stone.

Rahm backed the Chicago police’s denials, as did most Chicago reporters. The thing is, those denials were lies. Our lawsuit actually led to us deposing police officials, and we learned that indeed, CPD’s records ensured people were disappeared while there.

Here is just one of the stories that & I reported on Homan Square, about the mechanics of how the Chicago police disappear people there: Homan Square was open for every day of Emanuel’s mayoralty. It remains open today.

In 2015, I reported on a warehouse in Chicago where police take mostly black & Hispanic Chicagoans for incommunicado interrogations before booking them at regular police stations. Emanuel, up for re-election, gave a nondenial denial. I sued CPD for their own records proving it.

Anyway, the Senate just voted 52-47 to move forward with making Howard Nielson -- a guy who spent years fighting marriage equality and was part of the team behind GWB's torture memos -- a lifetime federal judge.

I can’t honestly believe Beto is so bad at both politics and punk as to invite a discussion on whether he is punk enough.
