    I normally limit this space to science. However, recent tragic events & the pandemic are painfully reemphasizing systemic racism & inequities that threaten the lives & well-being of many of us, our trainees, & loved ones. We all have to speak up & demand change.

    I'd like the convo on diversity in STEM to shift away from "diverse teams, do better" & towards equity. Acknowledge political/social/economic/cultural barriers have kept URMs from these spaces. We aren't "tools" for better science. We are ppl w/ dreams, goals, & desires.
