    So bored of gotchas over world leaders taking jets to COP26, food suppliers not being sustainable, etc. These don't illustrate hypocrisy, they show that we currently live in a society that is unsustainable in a way that is difficult to escape even if you want to.

    As for the Philippines, the government reports the data in a way that makes it impossible to know how many people in the country have received at least 1 dose of vaccine. Last known figure was 25% on September 30.

    Note that China has not reported the number of people vaccinated in the country since September 18 (76%). That's why it doesn't appear on this map.

    Many serious media report that the Covid death toll is 5 million, but that's a totally meaningless and misleading number, given that so many deaths go unreported in many countries. estimates that the true death toll is 16.7 million. ->

    Very long term data on trade-adjusted emissions is not available (since the necessary detailed trade data is not available). But for the last three decades we have such data:

    It's been a reality for a long time that trade-adjusted CO2 emissions decline in high-income countries. But here on Twitter people still ask me whether there is *any country* that ever achieved this!

    We've updated our end-of-year projections for global vaccination targets. We now project that 69 countries (43 of them in Africa) are currently not on track to have given a first dose to 40% of their population by the end of 2021. Read more:
