27 January 1832. Lewis Carroll (Charles Dodgson) was born in Daresbury. He’s best known as a writer of children’s fiction, most notably, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and its sequel Through the Looking-Glass. He was praised for his facility with word play, logic, and fantasy.
