Freeplane is a great mindmap and knowledge map software with active development which seems to be the most important factor on Open Source programs these days. I recommend using the default settings and templates first as the program can grow complex rapidly. I would love to see some 3d functionality eventually planned for the software to compete in this burgeoning market. Mindmapping is the tool of choice for managing today's information overload problems. FriendfortheArtists plans on releasing some training videos on YouTube. The only complete mindmaps without costing an arm and leg are Freeplane(Open Source) and another one that wouldn't be appropriate to mention here. I strongly recommend both.

With installing Freeplane 1.9.8 I have lost the ability to assign styles directly or to assign a style to an F-key. I can only use those F-keys previously assigned and cannot assign a style directly to a node. Will this be fixed? Regards, Stephen Hicks
