    Giving birth should be healthy and safe for every single New Yorker, regardless of race. We're bringing the Citywide Doula Initiative to families in 33 neighborhoods for free and ​partnering with all 38 public and private birthing facilities on our Midwifery Initiative.

    Holy Moly Brown Jackson just brought me to tears as she talked about not always being the best parent and balancing parenthood and a demanding profession. She ended by saying that “perfection” should not be the goal. Amen to that!

    Our youngest turns 20 today. While I am so grateful for this beautiful young lady, I am kinda sad I don’t have any more teenagers. Parenting teens was alot of fun and made me a more empathetic and patient person.

    We are in the throes of a second pandemic after , a mental health crisis we will be dealing with for years to come. If we fail to act, the burden will fall mainly on our children and communities hardest hit by the pandemic.
