"Those closest to me know I have talked about learning to code for years and I’ve finally made the decision to do it! I am excited and nervous for the road ahead but I can’t wait to see what I am capable of."
Welcome to Hackbright,
I'm practicing coding interview/@LeetCode problems with @TaylorMHarts today, and we both did several productions of "Hairspray" back in our theatre days, so this invite felt v appropriate :
Really patting myself on the back for spending time learning some Python before my prep course. Syntax, data types, for and while loops, defining and calling functions, and using Turtle all covered in an hour?! Damn I’m glad I could keep up.
I also think it would be fun to make a Galaga style game where I could shoot hearts at my fiancés face buuut again..what’s that saying? Learn to walk before you run?
What I really want to make is a Frogger style game because it’s one of my first memories of using a computer as a kid. But I think it is too complex for a console based game and without using pygame 🤔
Brainstorming ideas for my first terminal based game using Python…thoughts so far are: Pong (to learn how to move items in the terminal and make something cooler soon) or a Love is Blind Choose your own Adventure game(because THAT’S the kind of content I want to play) 🏓💕
My first class was so fun! I enjoyed pair programming with my partner using Blockly to solve different problems. We ended up staying after class to work through the last problem together...the determination to figure out the solution is the kind of energy I am talking about! 👏🏻
The best trick I’ve found to manage my anxiety and ADHD (combined with medication and therapy) is morning exercise! I am so much more productive and kind to myself after a morning
I have not felt this proud of myself in a long time...learning to code is bringing me a new sense of self-worth and it feels amazing! #womenintech#WomenWhoCode
