Here's a card I made last night in SwiftUI that uses the accelerometer to create a parallax effect. There are 4 different effects being applied, two for the shadows, one for the card container, and one (inverted) for the image in the card.

the pomodoro technique loses its bite once you realize you actually have both physical and mental superiority over the tomato. if the situation escalated to a point where the tomato attempted to force you into work you could simply ignore it. you could threaten it with a knife.

Evergreen entreaty to tech folks: It's fine (nay, good!) to not offer uninformed takes on how folks should handle big, complicated events outside your area of expertise. Not posting is free. We can just donate cash, amplify knowledgeable expert voices and chill.

  12. As a design community, we all can’t be silent in these times. We need to be united in our fight against the war, for the democracy, for those dreams that children are entitled to have when they are growing up. It’s our obligation to help as much as we can. 🇺🇦

Out of respect for the situation in Ukraine, Progress is pausing all socials & streams – that includes Dev by Design & UI Mondays that usually stream today. I support this decision, and believe it's important to make space for Ukrainian voices to be heard. I stand with Ukraine.

This is one of the Top 10 most prolific contributors to the Python programming language. He contributed more code than any currently sitting Steering Committee member. His life is in danger. There is no "keeping politics out of programming", tech consists of real people.

My extremely "front-of-the-front-end" self just had to set up a GitHub Actions workflow on a project for the first time and it was honestly pretty darn painless. Only took about 25 min to get it set up and doing what I wanted. Never been so relieved to see that ✅
