    The words Frederick Douglass offered regarding Abraham Lincoln gives me chills as I listen to them read 155 years later. Lincoln’s genius was in skillfully dragging a recalcitrant and racist country out of the mud and then laying the foundation of a more perfect union.

    On April 14, 1865, Abraham Lincoln was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. He died the next day at 7:22 am. In his speech at Lincoln’s funeral, Frederick Douglass offered both high praise and sharp criticism of the late president's legacy.

    And is correct! Deciding *not* to prosecute clearly criminal actions because you're worried about some sort of political fallout is indeed a politicization of the process. Stop letting Trump work the refs and just hold him accountable while it's still possible.

    Vanda Obiedkova z"l was an active member of Mariupol's Jewish community. In 1941, she evaded the Nazis by hiding in a basement. 80 years later, Vanda died in another basement, as a victim of the current war in Ukraine. May her memory forever be a blessing.
