When Trump was on twitter previously, even though I had muted every mention of his name, my timeline was awash with people sharing every word he tweeted, whether in shock, outrage or support. Constantly hearing his fascistic inanities is exhausting. He is a drain on humanity.

It's why open societies should not surrender knowledge or communications infrastructure to private ownership. Twitter should always have been a Commons, and we need to get behind wiki and federated tools that re-decentralise the Web.
