NEW VIDEO: My take on and why I think it's pretty incredible tech for building faster web experiences with minimal, constant, predictable JavaScript bundle sizes.
Thankful for where I first encountered it.

Congrats to & on the raise. Put a “W” in the books for fun software & self-taught builders! 🎨
I’ve had it on my homescreen since early this year & use it regularly as my quick digital scratch book. Very few mobile interfaces are anywhere near as intuitive.

Chaos; everyone at the Future of Coding meetup (20 people? maybe 30) got into the same beta multiplayer room and went nuts. Low latency, no interpolation, snappy af. This is how all collaborative apps should work.

i find website to be one of the nicest doodling experiences on a pc, with a cheap pressure sensitive tablet. it just feels so fluid even compared to photoshop et al. a certain je ne sais quoi - great ‘feel’. my only wish is for keyboard shortcuts for pen colors…

Well, before the site goes down... it's not finished, but I did make some progress on the obligatory lo-fi + example.
It's replacing each shape wholesale on every change at the moment. Going to see how much object preservation and conflict resolution I can work into it

Sooooo it turns out I might have just optimized the entire and perfect-freehand's rendering speed by 200% and halved the payload size while improving readability. Will show the code tomorrow!

I've recently helped @steveruizok optimize @tldraw's performance by quite a bit, while keeping the code as simple and readable, if not even more so!
With Steve's permission, here's a glimpse of our conversation, with potentially more to come in the future: gist.github.com/steveruizok/3d

It is catastrophically revealing of vulnerability that Adobe paid >10% of their market cap to buy Figma. 🤣
Open source transformation is coming to the creative/design software category faster than ever now… 👀 ✨
