I was once this little girl. Separated from my Dad and white adults wouldn’t help me. It was at night. It was dark. I was not safe. I told them I was lost. It was a Black woman who helped me get home. This hurts so much to see today.

I gave my mom's book, "Coretta: My Life My Love, My Legacy," to Janet, and my children's book, "It Starts With Me," to her for her son. I mentioned to Janet that the last time I saw her was when she presented an award to my mom, #CorettaScottKing, here in #Atlanta in 2004.
