Bonner: how many of us would say women could not be evangelists? Would any of us say that? (Group shakes heads) Bonner: I don’t see how we can be accused of hindering the Great Commission.

Now pretty in the weeds talking about OT and NT definitions of pastor/shepherd, including Greek translations to English, grammar, etc. Main agreement seems to be that this person, however described, functions as a leader.

Southern Baptist Convention executive committee approves motion for the full convention to vote on a proposal to enshrine a ban on women pastors.

So, let me break it down: The EC is about to vote on whether the full SBC will vote on Mike Law's amendment. The current recommendation the EC is voting on is to forward the amendment on but with the advisement the messengers vote against it. #SBC23

Consensus on cuts re: DA's office, Heal the Hood grant, all of Ford's grants that Harris points out "are something we should be watchful around at least a little." Group agrees they want to maintain funding for veterans services and courst.

Harris leading exercise of going thru the $17 million commissioners added to the budgets and seeing if the four here can agree to "Sunday afternoon cuts" (meaning they'll have to still be cut formally)

Really interesting meeting(s) today at Shelby Co as Mayor Harris tries to find a consensus on finding new revenues for projects like Regional One and two new high schools. Currently, two republicans commissioners in one room, two democrats in another, Harris going between 2 rooms
