You find that you have a lot of hats since you started 'working' for wikiHow. It isn't always easy to keep them straight or to remember what codes go where. Well, the use of Notetab Light with its tabbed features can help you.
Edit Steps
- 1Download the program at Notetab.com.[1]
- 2Create the tabs (if that is how you choose to do it) to your specifications.
- The image here shows a sample with different tabs that would fit your different jobs.
- As you patrol, you might find yourself warning a lot of people, or NFDing a lot of articles. This keeps you from having to type the same thing, over and over again.
- 3Choose Notetab Light or Notepad. Under Help, you will find an option that allows you to change the default text editor to Notetab.
- 4Go to View and look at the options. One of the selections is Stay on top. This is the option of keeping it on top of everything, including your browser windows. You can select what is most convenient for you.
- 5Explore Notetab Light. Notetab Light has a lot of options. You can code HTML, CSS, work with Perl and many other programming languages. It has functionality to strip the HTML from documents.
- 6Create a template article.
- If you are a fairly prolific author of articles, or someone that doesn't like to use the guided editing, you can create a sample template to use to create your articles in Notetab.
- One of the great conveniences of Notetab is that it has a 'Fahrenheit to Celsius' and 'Celsius to Fahrenheit' converter. This makes it much easier to make recipes with both measurements of heat.
- 7Look around the download website and check out its further options. This program works in conjunction with other programs as well. They are listed on the download page.
Edit Tips
- Different people think different ways...e.g. left brained vs. right brained. Being able to set up the pasting feature to the way that is most sensible to you allows you to have (on hand) what you need.
- You do have alternatives. Notepad++[2] is also a tabbed program, offers multiple platforms and is open source.
Edit Warnings
- At this point, this is only a Windows program. It is unknown if there is a similar program for the other OSs.
