Creating screenshots is great, but sometimes you want to do a little bit more to point something out in the screenshot. This article will tell you how to do that with Paint.net.
Edit Steps
- 1Create your screenshot.
- When you paste your image, you will probably see the option to expand the canvas or working image.
- 2Add boxes and arrows as needed.
- Use the the rounded rectangle and line drawing tools on the Tools bar (located on the left by default).
- Add pointed arrows at the end(s) of your lines, making process diagrams easier to draw. You can also make the lines of your arrows solid or dashed.
3Add some text to your screenshot.4To do a gaussian blur on the parts that you don't want to be focused on, do an inverse selection. Click on Edit > Invert Selection. The click on the Effects > Blurs > Gaussian Blur with 2 pixels as the radius.5Examine your work to see if it is complete.Edit Tips
- Use the gaussian blur for unimportant parts to keep attention on what you are focusing on.
- If creating screenshots for wikiHow, remember that it is preferred not to have text in the photo with the explanations in it. This is because of the possibility of translation.
