    Watch some mermaid shows on youtube. See what other people did for their shows. Think about what they are doing that's good and what is not good and try to not make that mistake.

    Get an idea. You might know it's a show about mermaids, but what is it really about? How many people become mermaids? How do they become mermaids? Where did it happen (In a lake, pool,etc)? What problems do they face? Once you answer these questions, it will be easy to write the script.

    Once you know what things to do for the script,what not to do, and you have the ideas for it, write the script. On the first episode, you should show each character's personality. You should also show how they became mermaids in this episode. For the second episode, show how they adjust. For the episode 3+, just show the mermaid adventures that they have and maybe introduce more characters.

    You have the script, so it's time to find actors. Don't just pick your best friend. Pick someone you think would be able to play that part. If your best friend hates the water, you shouldn't pick her to become a mermaid because it involves a LOT of swimming.

Now it's time to save your money because you'll need a lot of things.You'll need an underwater or at least waterproof camera (you can find good ones for good prices at amazon.com), tails ( you can make your own and there are lots of videos on youtube or buy one mermaidtails.net has a bunch of links to websites that sell them), and a pool,pond, beach, or wherever you can swim.

    Practice everything. Practice swimming, practice acting, practice the script. Get ready for filming.

    Get ready ahead of time. Plan when you are going to film so that you can get ready before you want to film. Plan at least 3 months ahead. If you get everything done ahead of time, then all you have to do is film. You'll have enough time to make a few more episodes and have time to do whatever you want. The more you make, the easier it gets because you already have everything you need.
