    $24/month would kill you in the USA, not Cuba. Plus being a teacher in Cuba comes with prestige, unlike the USA, where teachers are vilified by media & blamed for capitalism's failings. Cuba is well aware their model isn't perfect. given the immoral sanctions, they're doing great
