  1. When did we decide the promise of Silicon Valley firms were limited -- even within the companies -- to the select few? (4)

  2. One of those TVCs is Mindy Cruz, who spoke to us about her experience. Her Google manager promised her a full-time position, harassed her. She was fired after she rebuffed his advances. After Google investigated, he was fired. Now, he works at Facebook.

  3. The precarious position of Google's TVCs (temps, vendors and contractors) also means no job security and, potentially, vulnerable to exploitation and harassment. It seems at odds for a company that promised to treat employees well because they were "everything." (2)

Hmm. Maybe they should call them the Oakland Warriors for the rest of the playoffs. Thanks for reading, all.

It's not just the office. Recently an attorney identified (in an open, public court room!) as a NY Times reporter - seemingly confusing him with who *does* work at the Times and covers similar topics. 😐 😐 😐

For all the heat that Apple gets for being a closed shop, their calls with analysts are more enlightening because Tim Cook answers questions for the most part. Do analysts really find this Alphabet call useful?

These Alphabet analyst calls make me wonder - what's the point? It's almost impossible to get Ruth or Sundar to say more than their prepared remarks. Either they should decide to answer fully or let's just not do it.
