Why is Croatia so important to Ukraine's Azov movement -- so much so that the far-right movement is hosting a conference abroad for the first time in Zagreb this autumn? My investigation, part of my Fellowship with .

Ukraine is emerging as a hub in the broader network of transnational white supremacy extremism. This piece by looks, in particular, at Kyiv as a center for neo-Nazi concerts. Includes our latest report:

From Asgardsrei to Fortress Europe to Kategorie C's show & Asgardsrei again soon, open neo-Nazi concerts in Kyiv have become a trend, escaping attention or scrutiny from gov't & most local media. My 1st blog post as a Policy and Practitioner Fellow

Canada's goes full ethno-nationalist.... "It's yours. Opt for women and men who look like you, who share your values, who care about your concerns and who work for your interests, the interests of Quebecois. Only Quebecois. Tomorrow belongs to you."

. come for a discussion of the Steinmeier formula, stay for the description of Azov and company's protest in front of the presidency as "fairly sad"

One party/grouping that's endorsed Škoro are the "Suverenisti" of Ruža Tomašić -- who, as I wrote about for a few months ago, are very close with Ukraine's Azov movement

In Croatia's presidential elections in a few months, Miroslav Škoro (third in polls right now) is "a combination of populist, nationalist and wannabe comedian" and "a potential receipient of protest votes from...right-wingers who are disappointed with [Kolinda] Grabar Kitarovic"

As these stories from 2014 and 2015 attest, Siderov is nothing if not consistent in his vileness

In Bulgaria, far-right, pro-Russian Ataka leader Volen Siderov stays on brand, accusing one former far-right colleague of stealing billions from Bulgaria to give to the US (?) and another of being gay, all while getting himself kicked off a TV show for being too obnoxious.

On a more serious note, look at 's tweets from on scene on Maidan. There's an impromptu protest against 's support of the Steinmeier formula today, a protest where Azov members clearly aren't welcome.

If this is indeed the case, it's merely a cosmetic change as part of their clear rebranding efforts and ongoing attempts to mainstream themselves. If it's the same people, same leaders, same far-right group acting with impunity, a name change means nothing.
